A guy walks into a restaurant...

No, it isn't the beginning of a hilarious joke but it is the beginning of us, Ron & Jenn aka Casa Causpanic.

Y'all come on in.

It is a very ordinary, extraordinary life about which we journal.

We would love it if you would subscribe below and  also hope you will join us on Instagram and even on youtube!

Hola, from Texas

We are Ronnie(Cau) and Jennifer(Spanic) Smethers.  Our first entry!  Life has recently taken on a new shape for us.  MANY changes in just the last month or so.  We prefer to refer to them as "new beginnings" rather than "changes". Change is scary. New beginnings are exciting. Is that psychology working on you, because I gotta admit, it's kind of iffy for me. We are new to this but Old Dawg (aka Ronnie) tells me he can learn new tricks, therefore, so can I.

Our hope is to document this new phase in our life so that our families and friends can check in on what is going on with us and so that we will be able to always go back and read about the crazy days in our lives as well as the many very ordinary days.  We go through couch potato phases but you will also find posts on projects that take us on(ha), food we love, things we like to do and interesting stories from the Old Dawg.

Now you may be asking yourself, "Is Causpanic actually a word?"  Don't go running to get your dictionary because it isn't there.  But it does exist in a colorful list of "Ron-isms".  He is a Caucasian man with many of the same loves of a Hispanic...menudo, cabeza, mariachis, chorizo, HOT pepper, family get-togethers, lots of good food, adding to a big group at the hospital when one of our loved ones is ill and so on.  To add to that, he married me, a Hispanic, putting him smack dab in the middle of a Hispanic family.  He fits in so well with our family, he coined himself as Causpanic.

We have great families on both sides and three big, spoiled dogs.  We cherish the memories with all of them and are excited about REALLY being able to be a part of their lives now that Ron is not working.  I feel like finally we will be able to really just be present in each and every moment and we thank God for that opportunity.

I am sure our first entries will deal with the change in our current living situation.  We are in the process of selling our house and moving from a 1700 sq ft home in a large metroplex to a less than 1000 sq ft building that we will morph into a home after having been a photography studio and bakery in a small town of around twenty thousand people.  The fun begins.

We hope it is interesting and entertaining to our families and friends and anyone else that may stop by our blog. You all are always welcome!!

What a Jerk
